A meeting chaired by Minister for National Health Services, Aamir Mehmoud Kiani in Islamabad today decided to constitute an emergency nutrition task force with the aim to eliminate child malnutrition.
The meeting was attended by the provincial health and population welfare ministers.
It was decided that the provinces will be given representation in the task force.
The meeting also decided to take steps to make the lady health workers more effective and functional.
It stressed on the need for chalking out a strategy to check the population growth.
Addressing the meeting, Aamir Mehmoud Kiani said that a countrywide campaign will be launched from 15th of next month against measles.
He said the health sector was ignored in the past, but we will give priority to this sector as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Minister said all resources will be utililized to bring improvement in the health sector.
